1968: The Grammys’ 10th Anniversary

Since its inception, the Grammys had awarded numerous artists and quickly gained recognition as one of the best in the world. The 1968 Grammy Awards were special in many ways. For one, it was the 10th anniversary, and Elvis Presley also won his first Grammy for Best Sacred Performance.

Comedian Stan Freberg hosted the Los Angeles dinner Awards, which saw the vocal group 5th dimension bag no less than four Grammys for their rendition of Jimmy Webb’s “Up, Up, and Away,” which also won the song of the year. The anniversary was the best opportunity to showcase the broad connections between different genres.
