Here are Some of the Most Iconic Grammy Moments of All Time

1984: Annie Lennox’s Signature Statement

At the 1984 Grammy Awards, artists were recognized for their contributions to the industry in the previous year. Michael Jackson was in the spotlight after winning a record eight awards. However, there was another headline-catching event; Annie Lennox, who was supposed to perform with the Eurythmics, was nowhere to be found.

The Grammy production team was concerned, but she was masked in the backstage area with the assistance of her bandmate, Dave Stewart. When it was time to perform, Lennox walked strutted across the stage in a dark suit, with faux mutton chops flanking her youthful face and her voice lowered to a different, huskier register, much to everyone’s surprise.
