1986: Whitney Houston Shines Brightest

Whitney Houston is the most-awarded female singer of all time. This wouldn’t be true if she didn’t have a couple of Grammys under her belt. She has a long history with the Grammys that dates back to the beginning of her career, which was at the 28th annual Grammy Awards held in February 1986.

Houston was a staple at the Grammys from the beginning. In her first awards ceremony, the then 22-year-old songstress performed her first chart-topper, “Saving All My Love for You.” She later took home her award for Best Female Pop Vocal performance that night to mark a flying start to he career.
