During the Great Depression of the ’30s, the United States was hit with a whopping unemployment rate of 19.4 percent (as reported by CBS). In some locations, the unemployment rate was even higher. The St. Louis Fed website, for instance, claims that the unemployment rate went from three percent to 23 percent in the area in just three years, which is remarkable!

With so many people on the streets, it’s no wonder many people started investing in non-traditional tactics to get hired. The man in the picture decided to wear his CV as a sign, and we sure hope someone offered him a job.
