Saskia Deirdre de Brauw wordt ook wel eens de muze van Karl Lagerfeld genoemd. Als dochter van de adelijke familie de Brauw, draagt ze zelfs de titel van jonkvrouw. Haar carrière als model begon op haar zestien, en drie jaar lang werkte ze in België, Duitsland en Nederland. Maar ze besloot toen om haar studies aan de kunstacademie af te werken en ging aan de slag als performing artist. Op haar negenentwintigste wordt de lokroep van de modellenwereld dan toch te sterk en ze poseert voor Givenchy, mag op de cover van de Frans en Italiaanse Vogue en wordt het gezicht van Versace, Prade, Armani en Chanel. Ook bij David Bowie en Daft Punk mocht ze even op de foto, maar de laatste jaren concentreert ze zich opnieuw op haar leven als kunstenares.
