ROLAND EMMERICH, GEBOREN 1955 – INDEPENDENCE DAY
Seine Filme machten den deutschen Produzenten, Regisseur und Drehbuchautor weltweit bekannt. Er spezialisierte sich früh auf Science-Fiction und drehte Filme auf Englisch, so wurde schnell auch Hollywood auf ihn Aufmerksam. Sein Durchbruch gelang ihm 1992 mit dem Film “Universal Soldier”, der mit Jean-Claude Van Damme besetzt war. Es folgten große Blockbuster wie “Independence Day”, “Godzilla” und “The Day After Tomorrow”. Bis heute ist er seinem Genre treu geblieben und so drehte er 2022 einen weiteren Katastrophenfilm “Moonfall”. Privat engagiert er sich sozial für Menschenrechte und lebt mit seinem Partner Omar de Soto, den er 2017 heiratete, abwechselnd in Los Angeles, London und Berlin.
