Prison Break: Meet the Alcatraz Inmates Who Flew into Thin Air, Never to Be Seen Again!

The Battle of Alcatraz

Clarence Carnes, Bernard Paul Coy, and Marvin Hubbard were three of the four prisoners who instigated the rebellion later dubbed “The Battle of Alcatraz.” It began over the course of three days, following an effort at a prison break. Marvin, Benard, two guards, and another prisoner perished in the riot.

In the first image, Sam Shockley is seen, and Miran Thompson is the man on his right. These pictures were taken before their detention at Alcatraz. Throughout the “Battle of Alcatraz,” they supported the riot organizers. Due to their involvement in the slaughter, they were put to death in 1948.
