Here are Some of the Most Iconic Grammy Moments of All Time

2002: The 9/11 Tributes

Music is such an effective way of capturing emotions and conveying feelings. The 2002 Grammy Awards were held at the Staples Center on February 27th, shortly after the 2001 9/11 attack. Therefore, it was no surprise that the awards were dominated by tributes to the tragic victims and the brave first responders who saved a lot of lives.

Most performances at the awards were moving, but one standout performance was by Alan Jackson. Jackson performed the song “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” emotionally, and it was hailed as one of the best the Grammys had heard since its inaugural awards.
