What’s better than one wedding? Two, if you ask Alan Cumming and Grant Shaffer. Alan, the Broadway and screen star known for roles in “Cabaret” and “The Good Wife,” met Grant, an illustrator and graphic artist, through mutual friends in New York. Sparks flew, and they tied the knot in London in 2007 since same-gender marriage wasn’t legal in the U.S. yet.
Fast forward five years, and when marriage equality became law, the couple celebrated again with a second wedding in New York City. Though they don’t have kids, their relationship has been full of love, laughter, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights.
