Winston Churchill, l’ancien premier ministre britannique, a joué un rôle essentiel dans le succès des nations alliées durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il faut dire qu’il était reconnu pour être un diplomate hors pair avec un tempérament impétueux et une nature très résiliente.
Toutes ces qualités ont été mises en avant lorsque Churchill s’est rendu au Canada en 1941 pour s’entretenir avec ses alliés de l’Amérique du Nord. Il ne savait que la visite allait inclure la prise d’un portrait et a d’abord protesté en allumant un cigare. Churchill a néanmoins fini par se calmer et a pris pour constater après qu’il aimait beaucoup le portrait capturé.
