Ces vagues ne sont que les échos d’un Tsunami dévastateur
Un tremblement de terre d’une magnitude de 9,1 sur l’échelle de Richter s’est produit en 2004 dans l’océan Indien. Les secousses dans la mer ont conduit à la formation de vagues d’une hauteur de 30 mètres qui sont venues frapper l’île de Sumatra en Indonésie.
Sumatra a été totalement dévastée par cette catastrophe naturelle, aussi désignée sous le terme de Tsunami. Elle n’a pas cependant été la seule à en souffrir puisque les effets du Tsunami ont été ressentis dans plusieurs pays d’Indonésie, à savoir le Sri Lanka, l’Inde, les Maldives et la Thaïlande. La photo ci-dessus a été prise en Thaïlande et montre les échos du Tsunami dans ce pays.
