In 2014, a video of paddle boarders surfing made the rounds on the internet, not because they were exceptional but because a great white shark was caught swimming underneath the unsuspecting adventurers.
Taken at Manhattan Beach, California, the photographer experienced the same encounter when he went paddleboarding before. According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest fish predators in the world and are usually found in coastal waters. Scientists have learned that these creatures are curious and would do sample bites on humans.
