California Coast’s Appreciated Beauty

Nature was at it again when it created the Goleta Coastline in Southern Santa Barbara, California, because we can easily see the contrast between the brown landscape and the rich blue water. According to Kiddle, the word “Goleta” is Spanish for “Schooner.” The Chumash people used to reside in this place.

Goleta, which is known for its proximity to the University of California, Santa Barbara, was also known for its lemon production in the 19th Century, while other parts like the Ellwood Mesa were used for gas and oil extraction. Today, the city celebrates its Goleta Lemon Festival because there remain lemon groves spanning acres that lead to the bays.
