Roger Milla, der kamerunische Mittelstürmer galt noch bis zur WM 2014 in Brasilien als der älteste Spieler, der je bei einer Endrunde dabei war. In unserer Rangliste gilt er zumindest noch als der älteste Feldspieler. Der am 20.05.1952 geborene Stürmer hatte sein WM-Debüt am 15.06.1982 bei der WM in Spanien.
Es folgten insgesamt zehn Einsätze während drei WM-Endrunden, bei denen er turnierübergreifend fünf Mal das Tor getroffen hat. Am 28.06.1994, während der WM in den USA, war dann nach dem letzten Vorrundenspiel gegen Russland Schluss und Milla schrieb sich als WM-Oldie in die Geschichtsbücher des Fußballs ein.
