200 Jahre alter Kanal wird gereinigt: Unglaubliche Dinge kommen zum Vorschein
Überwältigende Mengen an Abfall
Wie erwartet, fand sich am Boden des Kanals eine enorme Menge an Abfall, der sich über die Jahrzehnte angesammelt hatte – ein trauriges Zeugnis der umweltschädlichen Verhaltensweisen vieler Menschen. Man entdeckte aber auch einige Gegenstände, die niemand dort vermutet hat und die gar nicht in den Kanal hätten gelangen dürfen.
Bei einer weiteren Reinigung im Jahr 2016 kamen viele der öffentlichen Leihfahrräder zum Vorschein. Seit der Einführung dieses Fahrradverleihsystems im Jahr 2007 mit fast 15.000 Rädern in Paris waren viele dieser Räder, leider auch aufgrund von Vandalismus, im Wasser gelandet. Es ist bedauerlich, dass die positive Initiative der Stadt sowohl von einigen Bürgern als auch von Touristen nicht wertgeschätzt wurde.
