200 Jahre alter Kanal wird gereinigt: Unglaubliche Dinge kommen zum Vorschein
Geheimnisse unter Wasser
Das Vorhandensein einiger großer Fischarten im Kanal, die zuvor in Paris noch nie gesichtet worden waren, verblüffte viele Menschen ganz besonders. Damit hatten die Verantwortlichen für die Reinigung nicht gerechnet. Um diese Fische zu schützen, ließ man anfangs noch etwas Wasser im Kanal, um ihr Austrocknen zu verhindern.
Der Plan sah vor, die Fische einzufangen, zu markieren und zu identifizieren, um sie an einen geeigneteren Ort umzusiedeln, der ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum näher war. Der Canal Saint-Martin war für die meisten dieser Fische nicht der ideale Lebensraum. Zudem musste der Kanal für die vollständige Reinigung letztendlich ganz trockengelegt werden, was das Überleben dieser Fische unmöglich gemacht hätte.
