De verscheidene miljoenentransfers van Robin van Persie, hebben hem een mooi spaarpotje opgeleverd. Arsenal, Manchester United, Fenerbahçe en Feyenoord hadden allemaal een grote som over om de aanvaller in hun ranger te kunnen opnemen. En nu van Persie zijn voetbalschoenen heeft opgeborgen, is het tijd om van die centen te kunnen genieten. Vorig jaar nog schafte hij zich een klein huisje aan in het Rotterdamse Hillegersberg, voor de bescheiden som van iets meer dan 6,5 miljoen euro. Het pand behoorde toe aan zakenman Michel Perridon die geen nood meer had aan zo’n grote woning. Van Persie kwam het pand bekijken, was meteen dol enthousiast en beklonk de deal binnen één dag. Met een eigen fitnessruimte, een grote oprit, tal van kamers en een enorme tuin komt zijn gezin vast niets te kort.
