Fans are used to actress Zoe Saldana being covered in makeup in franchises like Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers, where she portrays the green Gamora. In fact, the actress said she grew deeper respect for cosmetics after having to sit in the makeup station for three hours every day on Guardians.
However, after having spent hours caked in cosmetics, It’s no wonder Saldana goes without makeup whenever she can. However, growing up in the Dominican Republic, Saldana needed to find more natural beauty routines. “In the islands, rum isn’t only for drinking. You can actually put rum on your hair…because with the sun, the rum bleaches your hair. That was sort of a natural way of getting highlights.”
