Wendy’s Debuts a Strawberry Frosty

At first, the coronavirus pandemic hit the fast-food industry as hard as most others. However, since sales have started rising again, many companies have started introducing new items. Most recently, Wendy’s debuted what many have wanted for years: a Strawberry Frosty!

Right after its debut in 1969, at the original Wendy’s, the Frosty only came in the chocolate flavor. For those not in the know, Frostys are one of Wendy’s most beloved items. Not simply ice cream, a Frosty is actually a “form of soft-serve ice cream mixed with starches.” Whatever it’s made from, plenty of people must have one when they drive-thru Wendys. Finally, in 2006, the company decided to shake things up. After decades of requests, Wendy’s also began serving a new flavor of Frostys: vanilla. It must have worked well because, now, 15 years later, the company will release a new flavor, strawberry. That’s right! The bad news? Wendy’s will only sell the new flavor in Canada. For now, at least.

The fast-food giant announced the “berry” good news on Twitter last week. Why will the new flavor only appear in Canada? Well, some fast-food experts think it has something to do with the fact that, due to supply issues, Wendy’s cannot offer the vanilla Frosty in Canada. Now, after 15 years, America’s northern neighbors will finally have a second flavor of Frosty. And it is only a matter of time before Canadian Wendy’s fiends are posting reviews and pictures of the new item…

Of course, there are still a few questions that remain unanswered. For instance, how does the Strawberry Frosty taste? And how do fries and chicken nuggets taste with them? After all, that became one of the big reasons behind the push for the vanilla Frosty – people love dipping their fries into one! And these are just the beginning of incredible food combinations. We cannot wait to see what the Canadians do with their new Frosty flavor…

Don’t want to drive all the way to Canada to pick up a Strawberry Frosty? Well, we don’t blame you – that’s quite the drive! Well, you will likely have to make one at home. Just head to your local grocery store and grab some of that delicious strawberry ice cream syrup. Then, hit a Wendy’s on the way home and pick up a vanilla Frosty. At home, mix to your liking and enjoy. While it’s unlikely to taste as good as the real things, it’s definitely better than driving across the border. If you want a more even authentic flavor, take a look online. There have been many how have been making their own Strawberry Frostys for years!

If the Strawberry Frosty does well for Wendy’s in Canada, you can almost guarantee the company will bring it to America. However, for the time being, Americans will have to remain content with the chocolate and vanilla Frostys, as well as the Frosty Coffee that the fast-food company serves in the morning.
