Kelly Clarkson – 37 Pounds Lost

The winner of the first season of American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, has remained a mega pop star for nearly two decades! Hard to believe it’s been that long, right? Since her AI win, Clarkson has enjoyed a massive career, topping charts and winning plenty of awards along the way. While the singer took a break from music to start her own talk show and become a judge on The Voice, she also used the time to lose a little bit of weight!
36-year-old Clarkson said that she managed to lose those extra pounds by following Steven Gundry’s best-selling book, The Plant Paradox. Going vegan, as you can see, has had a severe impact on the singer’s life, who started working on a new album during the coronavirus lockdown.
Abby Lee Miller – Down 8 Sizes
If you’ve watched any reality television in the last decade, then you likely know what Dance Moms is. If not, it’s a show about young dancers and what they need to go through to accomplish their goals of becoming star dancers. The head dance instructor on the reality show, in charge of children and their bickering parents, is Abby Lee Miller. Like many other celebrity weight loss journeys, the dance instructor’s began with a type II diabetes diagnosis.

However, as an influential dance instructor, Miller wasn’t about to let that stop her from teaching. Even though she admitted she went through a rocky start, Miller now has a handle on the difficult lifestyle changes. All that effort paid off, as she dropped from a size 24 size to a size 16. More importantly, Miller gets to continue doing what she loves the most: teach dance!
Valerie Bertinelli – 172 Pounds Lost

Famed soap opera actress Valerie Bertinelli has managed to drop a staggering 172 pounds over her career! Before Bertinelli took matters into her own hands to remedy her weight issues, it was a regular hot gossip topic for all soap following media outlets. So, the actress decided she had endured enough and decided to do something about it!
Ultimately, Bertinelli opted for a traditional, but effective, celebrity weight loss plan. “My dieting philosophy is, you never have to give up anything completely. If there’s something you really like, you’ll always be pining for it. Then, if it’s put in front of you, you’ll go crazy for it,” she said. “Let’s face it, any diet is going to be prohibitive in some way, so you have to enjoy the process and the progress, and not look at it as misery.”
Delta Burke – 65 Pounds Lost

Those who grew up in the ’80s probably remember Delta Burke, who became an overnight sensation thanks to the role of Suzanne Sugarbaker on the hit sitcom Designing Women. However, after leaving the series suddenly, Burke remained absent from both the big and small screen for many years. As it turns out, the reason behind it all was that she had gained some serious weight. So, Burke decided to take some time off and try and lose it.
In fact, Burke’s doctor told her that if she didn’t improve her weight and health, sooner rather than later, she would need to take insulin for life. Thankfully, the actress managed to stay focused, cutting down her weight with a healthy diet and exercise, losing 65 pounds in the process!
Kathleen Turner – Undisclosed Weight Loss
Iconic actress Kathleen Turner began to put on some pounds about three decades into her career. In fact, the actress has admitted that it took her by surprise, as Turner always thought her metabolism would keep up with her! So, instead of doing something about it, Turner said that she elected to ignore it when she should have faced the problem head-on. It took a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis from her doctor for the actress to make some sustainable changes in her life.

Thankfully, a couple of years ago, Turner adopted a healthier lifestyle, and finally managed to lose the weight. Specifically, the actress credits her celebrity weight loss to her newly restricted use of alcohol, drugs, or any other types of chemicals. Turner not only gained her confidence back, but her new lifestyle also helped her get back on the big screen! Congrats!
Ashlee Simpson – 40 Pounds Lost
Jessica Simpson’s younger sister, Ashlee Simpson, followed in her sister’s footsteps nearly every step of the way. Not only did she become a reality show star and singer, just like Jessica, but Ashlee also had her own celebrity weight loss journey! You see, like her sister, Ashlee similarly suffered from a post-pregnancy weight gain. So, after her second birth, the younger Simpson went into hardcore weight loss mode, taking to social media to have fans keep her accountable.

Today, Ashlee looks just as great as Jessica does! Like her sister, Ashlee consistently works out with a trainer and watches what she eats, even after losing the weight. We’ll have to wait and see if Ashlee needs to do it again, as she is currently expecting her third child with her husband, Evan Ross, the son of Diana Ross.
Amy Schumer – 40 Pounds Lost
In almost every stand-up special that Amy Schumer has worked on, she has discussed her weight. You see, Schumer had no problem talking about her larger size. However, as part of the deal for her own movie, Trainwreck, Schumer needed to lose a few pounds for the film.

“It was explained to me before I did [Trainwreck] that if you weigh over 140 pounds as a woman in Hollywood and you’re on the screen, it will hurt people’s eyes. So I lost some weight to do that, but never again,” Schumer said to People. So, the comedian then hired a personal trainer to develop a healthy eating plan and exercise routine. The result? Schumer dropped 40 pounds!

Queen Latifah – 20 Pounds Lost

Rapper and actress Queen Latifah made it big back in the 1980s when her first hip-hop album sold incredibly well. She was only 19 at the time! Since then, Latifah’s made the jump into acting, becoming a worldwide star. Then, in 2008, she made another change, becoming a spokesperson for the weight-loss brand Jenny Craig. On their plan, she lost 20 pounds!
Like so many other celebrities’ weight loss stories, Queen Latifah also combined her diet with lots of exercises! She hits the gym five to seven times a week, favoring the elliptical or treadmill. Now, the fit, new Latifah is back in the studio, working on a new album.
Hilary Duff – 40 Pounds Lost
Actress-turned-singer Hilary Duff became a teen idol thanks to her role on the hit Disney series The Lizzie McGuire Show in the early 2000s. Since then, she was gone on to enjoy a massive career in music as well as a successful clothing line.

As a celebrity face for WW, the singer is not only available to tell others what helped her but also to inspire others to take the first step! Hudson’s best advice: “Out of sight, out of mind.” If there’s food that temps her, she simply throws it away. What a simple plan to follow!

Outside of reality show stars, few have been more open about their weight loss story than Oprah Winfrey. Over the past few years, Williams has taken her talk show audience on her weight loss journey. Sadly, like so many others, the host could not seem to find a routine that she could stick to.
