These Veteran Superstars Are Refusing to Retire, And Are Instead Still Making Blockbusters And Hits

Michael Gambon – Age 80

Sir Michael Gambon didn’t earn a knighthood just for playing Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore in the “Harry Potter” film series. He was knighted in 1998, before that role. His near six-decade career has included three Olivier Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four British Academy Television Awards.

These came for his roles in films like “Perfect Strangers,” “The King’s Speech,” and for the stage production “A View from the Bridge.” He’s also noted for various TV films and series like “The Singing Detective” and “Path to War.” He retired from stage acting in 2015 because of memory loss but still acts on screen and appeared in 2019’s “Cordelia.”
