Ela começou sua carreira ainda muito jovem na televisão e hoje continua completamente ativa na arte da atuação.Ela começou na novela Roque Santeiro, em 1985 e já teve vários papéis icônicos na TV, em novelas de sucesso como A Favorita, O Rei do Gado,Lado a Lado, Velho Chico e O Rebu. No cinema, atuou em sucessos como Zuzu Angel e O Quatrilho, este último foi indicado ao Oscar de Melhor Filme Estrangeiro.
2001, Patrícia descobriu que tinha um câncer no seio. Por sorte, como foi diagnosticado em estágio inicial, ele pôde ser totalmente removido.Foi casada com o candidato Ciro Gomes por dois anos.
