But it isn’t every day that one makes good use of one of the West Virginia-approved state songs as an efficient pickup line. Not only was his choice creative, but it also served its purpose.

“Take Me Home, Country Road” was a single from John Denver’s 1971 album, “Poems, Prayers & Promises,” which was originally started by songwriters Bill Danoff and his wife, Taffy Nivert. The song was incorporated in 2014 as one of West Virginia State’s songs, alongside three others.
