An Aversion To Compliments
Giving a good compliment is considered by many to be equivalent to giving a tip at an eatery. It is also considered to be a good motivator at the workplace, as it not only encourages employees to do better but also boosts their morale.
But it seems not everyone takes compliments quite literally, as it could sometimes be considered a way of buttering someone up or a means of getting on their good side. Some others are just naturally unable to process them and end up giving the wrong responses. Either way, this conversation turned sideways real quick as one party seemed to be aversive to the other’s compliment.
