Nebulae on Bare Ambition

Every inch of this model’s back could pass for a star chart, and it wouldn’t even raise eyebrows at a planetarium. The way the colors spiral out across her skin like cosmic confetti suggests someone somewhere decided skin was too blank and galaxies were exclusive. Photographer John Poppleton’s blacklight twist doesn’t hold back.

He turned the human figure into a nighttime nebula with hips. Her hair, a shock of ultraviolet white, looks like a comet mid-whip. With her spine glowing like it holds secrets from Saturn, she’s here rebranding space. There are no suits, helmets, or problems. If astronomers took style tips from this, telescopes would come wrapped in glitter.
