These Funny and Unbelievable Scenes From Airports Around the World Would Leave You Wide-Eyed With Awe

Standing on a Stairway to Nowhere

We don’t know about you but this photo looks like it was taken at the end of a movie where a group of people pooled together the last of their cash to pay for a ticket out of a war-torn country. Only to arrive at the airport on D-day and spend hours waiting for a plane that would never come.

Yes, we just made that up from scratch. But it’s not too far from the picture Albanian artist, Adrian Paci painted in his 2007 video titled, “Centro di permanenza temporanea” or “Temporary Detention Center.” If hopelessness could be captured in a photo, it would look like this.

How to Get Away With Napping

Just when you think you’ve had your fill of travelers sleeping in awkward positions, Bam! We hit you with this. Observers might complain at the obvious discomfort of being stuck in this position for an extended period, but we can’t really tell if this man would share those concerns.

It takes skill to find an ingenious solution to a problem like this. And with a well-placed suitcase, this passenger created a unique bed space for himself. So does it really matter that he’s upside down and his legs aren’t stretched out as they would be on an actual bed? We don’t think it does.

Plane Selfie

Pilots are no strangers to social media. And like everyone else, they enjoy documenting details of their lives and sharing them with an audience. This stunning lady is Maria Pettersson, a Swedish pilot who’s garnered quite a following on Instagram by sharing pictures of her work adventures.

She began taking flight deck selfies to share with her friends and family. But she caught the attention of thousands of other people. Isn’t it such a flex to share photos of yourself traveling when you’re the one doing the flying? And if you think the selfie flatters Peterrsson, you should check out the Boeing 737.

When the Sky Paints a Picture

Nature has a way of reminding us of how insignificant our existence is in the grand scheme of things. So if you’ve been in a rut, you can turn to Mother Nature. Some people get their fix by watching the sun rise or feeling the wind on their skin.

Alternatively, you could sit back and appreciate this stunning aerial shot from a cockpit. On this day, the sky was painted in different hues, and the clouds looked like mountain peaks rising out of the fog. It must be nice that pilots and passengers get to enjoy such views whenever they’re up in the sky.

Art as a form of expression can reflect many aspects of human existence. But if there’s one overarching truth that all artists and art lovers must accept, it’s that all art is subjective. Someone may look at this photo and wonder about the millions of luggage that get misplaced in airports globally.

On the other hand, someone else could see this, laugh, and wonder who came up with the idea to stack luggage so high that they could pass as pillars to help hold the building up. In reality, this installation was set up at the Sacramento International Airport sometime in 2014.

Penguins on a Plane

Doesn’t this photo remind you of models walking down the runway? But then, if you were a part of a penguin duo and you got the permission of the pilot and flight crew to step out of your crate for a few minutes, you’d want to get all the attention you could.

The pair who go by Pete and Penny were from the theme park “SeaWorld.” And this photo was taken onboard a Delta flight from San Antonio to New York. It’s safe to say they successfully charmed everyone aboard that flight on their way to the New York premiere of the series “Frozen Earth.”

The Best Kind of Personalized Luggage

The Department of Transportation reports that millions of luggage are stolen from U.S. airports yearly. And with such staggering statistics, travelers are encouraged to take extra care with their luggage when traveling. This man got the memo and decided to personalize his traveling case in a way that deters potential thieves.

We’d say he’s succeeded. At first glance, it seems funny for anyone to imprint a photo of themselves onto their luggage. But when you consider that any thief caught with the case would be an automatic suspect because their face wouldn’t match, you’d understand why he took this approach.

A New Form of Transportation

If you haven’t seen those photos making the rounds on the internet, where parents or guardians walk their kids around on leashes, you’d think this is the worst possible way to transport a child. But in fact, this picture is tame in comparison.

Flying takes quite a toll on fully grown adults, so imagine how tiring it must be for little kids. The child must have worked off a ton of restless energy before finally falling asleep. And it was quite smart of her dad to convert the luggage into a make-shift bed for a quick nap. Of course, some people will disagree and call this poor parenting.

The Force Is Strong in This Airport

It was a wonderful day in November 2015 when two life-sized replicas of Starfighters made their way to Changi Airport in Singapore. And if you know anything about the “Star Wars” film series, you’d understand that where a Starfighter is, the stormtroopers are never far behind. Or should we say, within?

Anyway, we bet all the Star Wars fans at the airport on this day had so much fun taking pictures or recording vlogs featuring this elite group of intergalactic soldiers. This picture could be your sign to watch or re-watch the entire series starting with the 1977 self-titled film and its sequels.
