If you were a kid in the ’70s and lived anywhere near Houston, Texas, we bet this black-and-white picture makes you feel nostalgic. Posing in front of a Southwest Airlines aircraft, these funky characters were reportedly called Peter Panda, Dirty Bird, Hugh the Shoe, and Connie Cone and were invented by the now-defunct toy store Kid’s Kounty.

Years before Toys R Us became the thing, Kid’s Kounty had two locations in the Houston area that made every kid scream with excitement—much to their parent’s despair! Sadly, Kid’s Kounty existence was brief, as the Houstonian landmark was already gone by the summer of 1975.
