Het icoon Brigitte Bardot mocht voor het eerst voor de lens poseren toen ze pas 15 jaar was. Op achttienjarige leeftijd debuteerde ze in de bioscoop en trouwde datzelfde jaar voor de eerste keer. Het zou trouwens het eerste van vele huwelijken worden. Als model en pinup was Bardot het Franse antwoord op de roem van Marilyn Monroe. Met haar rol in Et Dieu… créa la femme werd ze ook op het internationale toneel een echte ster. In totaal stond ze garant voor 48 films. Begin de jaren zeventig sloot ze haar acteercarrière af en waagde ze zich aan voorzichtige stappen in de muziekwereld en begon zich ook te profileren als fervente dierenrechtenactiviste. Ondertussen is ze 87 jaar geworden en draagt ze haar rimpels en grijze haren met het vertrouwen dat ze al die jaren als model uitstraalde.
