Alex Lundqvist was als model een echte laatbloeier. Hij werd pas opgepikt toen hij reeds 24 jaar was, door fotograaf Bruce Weber die zijn foto in een eerder onbekend magazine had zien staan. Versace liet er geen gras over groeien en boekte meteen een fotoshoot met de fotograaf en Lundqvist voor een internationale campagne. Al snel volgden ook opdrachten voor Lagerfeld en Guess. Ondertussen heeft de website Models.com hem gekroond tot één van de top tien meest iconische modellen aller tijden. En gelijk hebben ze, want hij mag dan een laatbloeier zijn, hij lijkt zijn looks na vijftig jaar nog steeds niet verloren te zijn.
