Harrison Ford: Carpenter

American veteran actor Harrison Ford nearly gave up on his acting career dreams after appearing in “American Graffiti.” Roles were hard to come by, so he chose to go back to what he knew how to do best, carpentry. To support his family, he made wooden items in Francis Coppola’s office, where George Lucas noticed him.

Lucas cast him as Han Solo in “Star Wars” in 1977, and he went on to reprise the role for the film’s subsequent four sequels in 42 years. Over five and a half decades later, Ford is still going strong despite being born in 1942, even appearing in the 2022 series “Shrinking.”
