ROBERT BALLARD
Robert Ballard è un archeologo ed oceanografo statunitense che è diventato popolare in tutto il mondo per aver localizzato i relitti di alcune delle più famose navi naufragate della storia. Primo fra tutti, il Titanic, nel 1985. Non fu semplice ritrovare il relitto di questa nave anche perché in passato furono organizzate tante spedizioni non andate a buon fine. Robert Ballard utilizzò una tecnologia che per l’epoca era sofisticata, ossia una videocamera subacquea in grado di resistere alla pressione riuscendo perfino a camminare sul fondale marino. Questa videocamera fu chiamata Argo e quando intercettò il relitto del Titanic per l’archeologo fu un’emozione assolutamente indescrivibile.
