Joachim Sauer und Angela Merkel – zusammen seit 1998
Joachim Sauer kennt vielleicht nicht jeder, es sei denn, ihr interessiert euch besonders für Quantenchemie. Dabei ist er schon seit Dezember 1998 mit Altkanzlerin Angela Merkel, der “Mutti der Nation”, verheiratet. Kennengelernt haben sich die beiden Wissenschaftler, als Sauer in den 1980er-Jahren die Doktorarbeit von Merkel betreute. Da muss es wohl gefunkt haben. Über das Privatleben des Paares ist leider nicht allzu viel bekannt. Die große Frage ist natürlich, was macht das Paar seit Merkels Rückzug aus der Politik? Die CDU-Politikerin plant laut “Der Westen” ihre eigene Biografie zu schreiben, das bietet sich im Ruhestand ja an. Und Prof. Dr. Dr. Sauer? Ist immer noch in der Wissenschaft tätig.
