Sidney Poitier – 94-Year-Old, $25 Million Net Worth

In the ’60s, when black actors were trying to forge their way into Hollywood, Sidney Poitier became one of the first to break out of the stereotypical roles for men of color. Along the way, the actor also became the first black male actor to win an Academy Award for his outstanding performance in the 1965 drama Lilies of the Field. After that, Poitier continued to enjoy massive success by starring in classics like With Love, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, and In the Heat of the Night, just to mention a few of the greats.
For his significant contributions to his home country, The Bahamas honored him by making him Ambassador to Japan from 1997 to 2007. Poitier also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. What a list of achievements!
