Die Schwedin wurde über Nacht unbeabsichtigt berühmt, als sie zum Schulstreik gegen den Klimawandel aufrief. Daraus resultierte eine internationale Bewegung, “fridays for future”.
Für ihre Tour durch die USA ließ es sich es Arnold Schwarzenegger nicht nehmen, ihr ein Elektroauto der Marke Tesla, Model 3 zu schenken. Die US-Legende hat großen Respekt für das Engagement der Aktivistin und setzt sich selbst für den Schutz der Umwelt ein. Auch zuvor wurde Greta schon einmal in Madrid in einem Tesla gesichtet, als sie damit zu einer Klimakonferenz erschien.
