Het is ondertussen al meer dan dertig jaar geleden dat Famke Janssen Nederland verliet om haar carrière als model extra kansen te geven over de grote plas. Alhoewel ze op behoorlijk wat bijval kon rekenen als model, brak ze pas echt internationaal door als actrice, toen ze de rol van de dodelijk Xenia Onatopp vertolkte in GoldenEye. Ondertussen mocht ze ook aan de zijde Liam Neeson staan in Taken en werd ze de belichaming van Jean Grey in X-Men. Voor haar werk verblijft ze heel vaak in New York en net daarom heeft ze er een penthouse aangekocht voor ongeveer anderhalf miljoen dollar, waar ze samen met haar hond verblijft. Ze blijft natuurlijk nog steeds een beetje haar Nederlandse afkomst in ere houden en is vaak in de buurt van haar huis te voet of op de fiets te spotten.
