These Hilarious Snow Photos Will Make You Either Love or Loathe Winter

The Curious Case of the Yellowish Polar Bear

A yellowish polar bear lounges on an ice ledge, with its lower body standing and upper body resting on a block of snow. While they are typically white, giving them excellent camouflage in their Arctic habitat, their fur can appear yellowish for a few reasons. Over time, their fur can become stained by oils and dirt from their environment or from seal blubber, which they eat.

Additionally, when kept in captivity, the lack of fresh snow to roll in can cause their fur to take on a yellowish hue. Polar bears are primarily found in the Arctic regions, including areas around Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Norway, and Russia.
