Steven Berghuis – 10 miljoen euro
Na diverse jeugdploegen, waar zijn talent kon worden opgemerkt, maakte Steven Berghuis in 2011 zijn debuut bij FC Twente als prof. Daarna ging hij even naar VVV Venlo en AZ Alkmaar waar hij zo’n 200.000 per jaar verdiende. Drie jaar later was Watford aan de beurt die naast 6,5 miljoen voor de transfer hem ook 1,1 miljoen per jaar zou betalen. Sportief werd het echter een flop en na een huurperiode bij Feyenoord, kochten ze hem ook 6,5 miljoen over, maar moest hij genoegen nemen met een half miljoen per jaar. Bij de hernieuwing van zijn contract in 2019 werd dat twee miljoen per jaar en nu hij koos voor Ajax, komt er jaarlijks 4 miljoen bij per jaar. Alles bij elkaar geteld maakt dat een geschat potje van minstens 10 miljoen euro, al kunnen we er een paar miljoen naast zitten natuurlijk. Een leuk bedrag voor een prille dertiger.
