2003: Simon & Garfunkel Reunite Part 2

In 2003, the Grammys were held in New York for the first time in five years. This time, the Recording Academy awarded the much-coveted Lifetime Achievement Award to Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. This opened the door for the enstranged duo to reunite at the Grammys, and they had the opening performance of the night.

Simon and Garfunkel were well known for hits such as “I Am a Rock” and “The Sound of Silence.” They famously broke up in 1993, and this was their first performance together since then. There was speculation of them getting back together after that, but they played down the rumors.
