What the Heck Is That? Ordinary Things That Look Insane Microscopic!
Human Embryos Start like Bubble Clusters

At 16 cells, a human embryo looks more like a bunch of soap bubbles than the beginning of a whole person. Under scrutiny, the cells—called blastomeres—sit tightly packed in a perfect little sphere, each one nearly identical to its neighbor. There’s no nervous system, no organs, just a team of cells dividing like it’s their full-time job.
This stage usually happens around day three after fertilization, and it’s a significant milestone in the early development of a human. Scientists often check this moment for IVF procedures since symmetry and cell count can hint at how well things are going.
