After Hurricane Katrina, Carr and his mother moved to the suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama, to the town of Homewood (seen in the photo). However, due to the influx of people from New Orleans, the pair found the rental prices very high. So, in addition to needing to find a new place to live and adapt to a new city, Carr was also going to need to find a new job.
