From hosting legendary events like a Led Zeppelin performance to the Super Bowl, spectators used to travel to Detroit, Michigan, to reach the Pontiac Silverdome. Unfortunately, its popularity began to drop once the Detroit Lions transferred to Ford Field, leaving the place in shambles.

We had gotten an idea of how horrible the structure’s condition was when photographer Matt Ervin flew his drone over the abandoned facility, showing the remnants of the turf lay that once protected the stadium from extreme conditions. According to the Daily Mail, construction of the sports venue was pegged at $55 million in the early ’70s.
