Back in the 80s, actress and singer Rita Wilson and actor Tom Hanks met on the set of the show Bosom Buddies, the improvised comedy where Hanks earned his start. Within days of meeting, the two became friends and worked together again a few years later on the 1985 film Volunteers. Just one year later, they started dating and then married in 1988.

Today, Wilson and Hanks have two children, Chester and Truman. Hanks joined the Greek Orthodox church before marrying Rita, a moment that was one of the inspirations for the famous baptism scene in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, which the couple produced.

We are blessed to the core and appreciate so much the love and support during this pregnancy.”
