Cartoons oriented at adults are all the rage. From South Park, Family Guy, and Rick and Morty to Netflix’s own Big Mouth and F Is For Family, adult animation is almost always a sure thing. Almost. Unfortunately, Hoops, the show about a foul-mouthed high school basketball coach and his team, did not click with fans. Even the voice talents of funny folks like Ron Funches, Natasha Leggero, and Rob Riggle could not save Hoops.
After just a single season of Hoops, which earned an abysmal 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, Netflix threw in the towel, quite literally. Once again, the decision came down to “viewership versus its cost,” according to a source close to the show.
