Robert Clary – Born In 1926 – Hogan’s Heroes

Robert Clary had a difficult childhood since he was transported to a Nazi concentration camp because he was Jewish. He acquired a love for singing throughout his stay in the camps, and he finally explored music as a career after becoming a free man in the late ’40s.

He had chances to make a name for himself as a performer by the ’50s, rising to prominence a decade later when he featured in “Hogan’s Heroes.” His last on-screen appearance was on “Matisse & Picasso: A Gentle Rivalry” in 2001, voicing Henri Matisse. Soon after, he retired from active TV and film work.
