Shirley MacLaine’s popularity grew rapidly once she began acting in films in the mid-’50s. She received nods for her roles in “The Turning Point” and “Some Came Running,” but it was her appearance in “Terms of Endearment” that garnered her an Academy Award.

Although she only won one Oscar in her lifetime, she did manage to win five Golden Globe Awards. Considering she is still a renowned name in the industry, MacLaine is still actively taking up roles as she starred in the 2018 live-action film “The Little Mermaid.” The stunning actress starred in the popular 2022 series “Only Murders in the Building.”
