Rosie Mercado (240 Pounds) – Gastric Sleeve Surgery
In one of the more amazing weight loss transformations, plus-size model Rosie Mercado lost 240 pounds. How did she do this? Through gastric sleeve surgery. She had initially started her weight-loss journey naturally after she realized she was weighing 410 pounds. But by the time she dropped to 300 pounds, she found it difficult to maintain or reduce her weight from there.
Deciding that natural methods weren’t working, she decided to turn to surgery. While her transformation has been astounding, Mercado revealed to People magazine in 2016 that the real work comes after the deed. She has to completely avoid unhealthy foods or suffer the consequences.
