Mangelnder Respekt für die Umwelt
Wie bereits erwähnt, wurden Dutzende von Leihfahrrädern, die von der Stadt gegen eine Gebühr zur Verfügung gestellt wurden – eine Praxis, die in vielen europäischen Metropolen üblich ist –, am Grund des Kanals gefunden. Das wirft die Frage auf, warum Menschen sie ins Wasser werfen, statt sie ordnungsgemäß zurückzugeben. Was haben sie davon?
Neben dem offensichtlichen Mangel an Bildung und Respekt sowohl gegenüber der Natur als auch gegenüber der Stadt und anderen Menschen, die diese Fahrräder hätten nutzen können, ist auch der dadurch verursachte Umweltschaden gravierend. Man kann dadurch das Gefühl bekommen, als ob in unserer Gesellschaft der Respekt vor Flora und Fauna zunehmend immer weiter verloren geht.
