On the day in question, Courtney Cadigan found herself very busy. She had full tables all around, many of them filled with families. It was pretty exhausting, to say the least! Then, near the end of her shift, a police officer arrived at the diner, one Cadigan had never seen before. However, this wasn’t too unusual, as the Lamp Post Diner had become a popular spot for cops on their lunch breaks. At the time, the pregnant waitress had no idea the police officer would change her life forever!

As stated, many police officers from the Voorhees County Police Department often stop at the Lamp Post Diner for their lunch or dinner breaks. However, despite all the years, Cadigan had worked at the diner, she had never seen the cop that came in that day.

Even stranger, the mysterious man with the badge did not say hello to anyone. Instead, the unassuming police officer simply sat down at a table and did not talk to anyone. But, as Cadigan had quite the workload that day, she did not think twice about the cop’s strange behavior. Soon enough, though, the waitress found out that she would be the one serving the police officer that day – and the encounter did not go as expected…
