During those 10 seasons, Jennifer Aniston was observed eating a salad that many believe was the tabbouleh-inspired salad, but, in reality, the starlet enjoyed a Cobb salad with turkey bacon and chickpeas during the filming of the American sitcom. It looks like Jennifer wasn’t the only person on set who was enjoying this salad. Co-stars Courtney Cos and Lisa Kudrow also joined in on the salad party, and the trio often opted for this salad every day. However, Jennifer Aniston didn’t use the regular ingredients; she experimented by switching some ingredients with others, like turkey bacon and garbanzo beans. It did not take long for the salad to have its very own fan base since Jennifer Aniston’s fans began loving the new twist on the regular salad recipe. So, doesn’t this make you wonder what’s so special about the salad?

The Cobb Salad

This is a famous American salad that consists of lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, chunks of chicken, eggs, avocado, blue cheese, and French dressing. You can always use substitutes for all the ingredients. However, when it comes to Aniston, she revealed in an interview that she opted to use shredded lettuce, chicken, turkey bacon, egg whites, chickpeas, and beans and topped it off with a basic vinaigrette. On some days, she would include some pecorino cheese that she purchased from an Italian restaurant and elevate the salad recipe.

However, if you are someone who either avoids or can’t eat one or more ingredients from this list, then worry not because there are several substitutes that you can use. For example, you can use spinach, endives, or kale instead of lettuce. For chicken, you can go for tofu, plant-based chicken, or chickpeas. When it comes to turkey bacon, you can swap it with plant-based bacon, prosciutto, or mushrooms, and last but not least, for chickpeas, you can go for green beans, black beans, and soybeans.

Making The Salad

While Jennifer Aniston hasn’t given a complete rundown on how to make the actual salad, some experts have cracked the code. You start by marinating chicken and boiling your eggs and chickpeas. Then you chop up your vegetables and assemble everything from the protein to the salad dressing. One thing that the actress pointed out was not to use a lot of chickpeas since they can lead to digestive issues.
