Colin Firth and Livia Giuggioli – 23 Years Together

Actor Colin Firth and Italian director Livia Giuggioli met on the set of Nostromo in 1997. Her English was weak, and he didn’t speak a word of Italian. Firth was smitten with her nonetheless, learning Italian for her. Post-Brexit, he also became an Italian citizen.
The couple have two boys, Luca and Matteo, and split their lives between London and Umbria. After their marriage, Firth took on a role that strangely mimicked his own relationship. In the hit romantic-comedy Love, Actually he portrays an Englishman who falls in love with a young Portuguese woman and must overcome a language barrier!
